Pattinaggio a Santa Caterina Valfurva

Qui proprio di fronte al nostro hotel c'è una bellissima pista di pattinaggio all'aperto. Tenuta con molta cura da Stefano, si presenta anche quest'anno pronta alla stagione invernale. Soprattutto la sera con le luci accese ha un fascino particolare, e pattinare in compagnia, come si sà è la gioia per piccoli e grandi.
Stefano naturalmente noleggia i pattini, sempre affilati per la miglior tenuta sul ghiaccio di Santa (che è naturale, mica artificiale!) Infatti dietro c'è un grosso impegno a prepareare la pista: bagna, pulisci, spazza la neve, e poi bagna di nuovo, spazza....non c'è mai fine!

In questi giorni le temperature in Italia ed in Europa sono nettamente sopra la media della stagione. Anche qui a 1700 metri di Santa Caterina Valfurva si nota la differenza che comunque è molto accettabile, anzi, ben gradita. Dalla nostra centralina meteo (di cui ho parlato in questo post) è possibile vedere la differenza tra luglio del 2009 e la prima parte di questo luglio 2010.
Si nota nettamente come le temperature massime giornaliere si avvicinino sempre e talvolta superino i 25 gradi centigradi. Una curiosità di Luglio 2009 è stata la temperature massima di 25 gradi raggiunta il giorno 16/07 e la temperatura minima di ZERO!! gradi raggiunta la notte del 19/07.

Domenica sera scorsa ho inforcato gli sci di alpinismo e lungo la pista Cevedale ho raggiunto l'arrivo dello skilift Gavia. Faceva un pò freddo, soprattutto da Plaghera in sù. Ero in compagnia dei gatti delle nevi che già erano al lavoro. Tolte le pelli di foca sono subito sceso e durante l'ultimo tratto della pista ho provato a filmare la discesa con la macchina fotografica (il video non è il massimo!) Bella uscita! magari la prossima con il sole! Per chi legge, ricordo che ogni martedì sera qui a Santa Caterina Valfurva c'è la possibilità di sciare sulla pista Deborah Compagnoni illuminata; la cabinovia è aperta dalle 20,30 alle 23,00. C'è poi sempre un buon vin brulè offerto dai ragazzi di Santa Caterina che Vi aspetta in fondo alla pista.

Natale all'Hotel Nordik Santa Caterina Valfurva

Anche quest'anno il Natale è passato. Un Natale da ricordare questo del 2009 per la pioggia che scendeva anche ai 1738 metri di Santa Caterina Valfurva! Comunque tutto a posto, terminata la pioggia, ancora una nevicata ed un calo delle temperature ha sistemato tutto. Le piste sono in ottime condizioni, anche la pista di fondo è al top come il nuovo campetto scuola ed il tapis roulant qui in paese. Metto alcune foto che riprendono la sala da pranzo ed il menù che abbiamo organizzato per la cena del 25/12. Allora, Buon Natale a tutti Voi.

Dal 21 al 24 Gennaio 2010 si terranno qui in Alta Valtellina i campionati italiani della protezione civile. I volontari da tutta Italia saranno ospiti per alcuni giorni di gare e divertimento sulla neve. Anche il nostro hotel ha aderito all'iniziativa, mettendo a disposizione alcune camere. Quindi un arrivederci a fine Gennaio 2010. Forza Ragazzi!!

Frodolfo è il nome del torrente che dal ghiacciaio dei Forni scorre lungo tutta la Valfurva fino a congiungersi con l'Adda a Santa Lucia, pochi Km dopo Bormio. Ieri mattina fino alle 15.00 circa, era veramente "rabbioso" e pieno. Alberto ha scattato qualche foto e girato un poco di video sempre con la macchina fotografica. Non ha piovuto molto, credo che i tecnici di A2A abbiano deviato l'acqua raccolta nell'ivaso dei Forni verso valle invece di incanalarla verso la Val Zebrù e poi Braulio e Cancano.

Da ormai un anno è attiva la centralina meteo qui all'Hotel Nordik. Si tratta di una centrale meteo semiprofessionale DAVIS modello Vantage PRO 2. E' composta da 3 elementi: 1) La base, che riceve, elabora e trasmette i dati. 2) Pluviometro, termometro, igrometro 3) Anemometro. La base si trova in ufficio, riceve via radio i dati dalle 2 stazioni esterne, è collegata ad un pc e trasmette tramite internet i dati al centrometeolombardo. L'elemento 2 l'abbiamo messo sul retro dell'hotel, è alimentato con un piccolo pannello solare e raccoglie la pioggia (neve durante l'inverno) nella vaschetta.
